Meet the new VLMK Interns
We’re excited to welcome our newest interns to VLMK Engineering + Design! Meg McLaughlin is joining us for the summer, and Eric Tran, a CECOP intern, will be with us for the next six months. We’re thrilled to have them on board—learn a bit more about Meg and Eric below:
Meg McLaughlin has joined VLMK Engineering + Design for her first structural engineering internship. She is entering her senior year at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo this fall and is majoring in Architectural Engineering. Meg has spent her past two summers at Perlo Construction where she worked doing project management and estimating. At VLMK, she will be collaborating with the structural team on a diverse range of engineering projects. In her free time, Meg enjoys reading, playing pickleball, and spending time outside in the sun. At the end of this summer, Meg is traveling to Kathmandu, Nepal with some of her classmates to study seismic hazards and spend some time trekking in the Himalayas.
Eric Tran has joined VLMK Engineering + Design for his second CECOP internship. He attends Portland State University and is planning on gaining his bachelor’s in civil engineering in summer of 2026. Eric’s first internship was at the Moore Excavation Inc. where he primarily worked on quantity takeoffs, estimates, and submittals. At VLMK, he will be working with the civil engineering team and have the chance to gain hands-on experience with site development, grading and drainage design, utility layout, and stormwater management. In Eric’s free time, you can catch him watching anime, going to the gym, or playing basketball. One of Eric’s bucket list items is to travel to every state in the United States.
